Work At Heights
We offer working at heights training in NSW for labourers and skilled workers who often have to work at heights of 2 metres or more. This training is ideal for civil, construction, mining and infrastructure industry employees but is suitable for people in all industries and market sectors. If you work at heights of 2 metres and over, you need a ticket to confirm you have received the relevant training, no matter what industry you work in. All courses are organised by our partner, Cobra Training Services, which is a Registered Training Organisation.
Working at heights safety training in Sydney
The purpose of our working at height training courses — which are led by fully qualified and experienced instructors — is to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to install, inspect and use the necessary equipment to safely work at heights of 2 metres and over in a variety of environments. Each course runs for a full day (8 hours) and is focused on preparing you for an assessment so that you can obtain the licence you need. Topics covered during the course will include:
- Risk assessment – When preparing to work at heights, it is important to first assess the environment in which you will be working, to identify all the potential risks.
- Choosing the right equipment – Once you have completed a risk assessment, you must choose the right equipment and clothing to mitigate the risks that you identified.
- Understanding the different types of protection available – In order to choose the right PPE for each job, you will need to know what type of equipment is available and what it is designed to achieve.
- Correct procedures for dealing with accidents – Although the aim of working at heights safety training is to avoid accidents, you must be prepared for any eventuality. Learning how to choose the right course of action to take in the event of an accident is an important part of the training.
- Implementing the hierarchy of control – The hierarchy of control is a system designed to help you control risks in the workplace. It is a step-by-step approach that will enable you to effectively reduce risk by taking the necessary steps in the right order.
Your instructor will make sure that you understand all the topics you are required to be familiar with and that you receive all the necessary training during your course. On successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate that is recognised everywhere in Australia, enabling you to apply for jobs that involve working at heights in any location.
